Holbeam cottage at Ogwell, Newton Abbot, Devon, TQ12 is quite remarkable! It’s an old cottage thats been given a modern twist.
It’s got the period features of a Grade II listed, thatched, 1640s cottage combined with an ultra modern extension that is very Grand Designs! It’s had some serious renovation work done with architects Minale + Minale and expert finishing by Bovey Construction.

I’m afraid though I’m not a fan of glass stairs but thats mostly because I’m not terribly good with heights.

The house does look at first glance like two separate cottages and it’s only looking more closely you see the glass join!

The listing is very detailed and mentions the Gaggenau gas range, Philippe Starck WC and bidet and a Caesarstone engineered quartz stone island in the kitchen.

It’s certainly a nice mix of old and new!

It’s not often a duck pond gets an honourable mention (Possibly because not a huge number of houses have them!) but this lovely house in Crediton Devon is a Grade 2 listed property with swimming pool, tennis court, 10 acres and a duckpond!

Pugin Hall is a really beautiful Grade I listed house built between 1846-47.
It’s an 8 bedroom house in Rampisham, Dorchester, Dorset. It has lots of features still including a Cane and Hamstone chimney piece, hamstone windows, the main staircase, open fireplaces and a set of mid 19th century doors
It has eco friendly Gilles central heating apparently too as part of a full renovation.

I read this listing and felt that it offered sympathy for the building. It’s a listed one in need of some TLC to bring it up to it’s full potential but it’s very lovely all the same. They’ve taken lost of photos of the features inside but not over-glossed it – it will need work which is listed and it strikes me as a very honest way of listing a property.

It’s a 7 bedroom house in Milton Damerel – a former vicarage!
