This rightmove listing has two pictures of the back garden. Pic 2 and 7.

Whilst I appreciate the hedge might look like that with some leaves on … it strikes me as silly!

Country House Rescue Gissing Hall
Anyone who loves big houses and is as nosey as me will love Country House Rescue. It’s a chance to poke around inside big houses through the TV lens!
This episode which was on last night 18th August 2011 – was at Gissing Hall which is a hotel and wedding venue. Ruth Watson advised the couple who wanted to retire to get a manager in and concentrate on the wedding venue side as the location is a bit off the beaten track for a hotel.
You can watch again Gissing Hall on Country House Rescue on 4onD
Gissing Hall is very pretty and dates back in parts hundreds of years.
At the end of the show they said it was for sale and here it is on rightmove SSTC

Mr Green the funny estate agent
Got to love his slightly honest listings…
2 bedroom apartment – There are approximately one gazillion flats on the market in Bournemouth. It’s actually a minor miracle you’ve had the fortune of stumbling across this jolly good one.
And I don’t think he liked this bungalow at all
Untamed bushes hide garden
Plastic corrugated car port
Mould growing inside the windows

Maps
You can look up the history of your house using maps.
The Charles Close Society has maps on their site. In the Maps section they have ‘Notable or Interesting Maps’
Their digital image section is interesting.
This page though is the most useful – put in your address and it’ll show a list of maps it features on! Some have links to them but others you might have to visit the British Library Maps room for.
This is discussed in the Restoration Home book that accompanies the BBC series. If you’re interested in researching the history of your own home it’ll be a useful reference and inspiration.
The old rectory at Alburgh
The Old Rectory is situated on the southern edge of Alburgh is a lovely gothic revival victorian building. It’s got wisteria growing on it too which adds to it’s loveliness.
Ticks for me for the swimming pool and sauna – but no pictures of them!
There is a lovely bit in the estate agent description::
There is an Orchard divided from the main garden by box hedging. Immediately to the west of the house is a Terrace partly covered by a Pergola draped with a vine and beyond is an area of secluded garden, excellent for keeping small children and animals under control!
Ornate ceilings
Some people prefer plain flat white ceilings – usually because artex is so dated… but this is an ornate ceiling with a real difference!
Artwork on the ceiling!
What view would you like to wake up to?
For many people a beautiful sea view would be just the thing to wake up to. For some it might be acres of rolling green hills, but even then there are days you wake up and wish you could see the see from your bedroom window.
This lovely house in Bantham, Kingsbridge, Devon has amazing views.
Longfield is described as a well proportioned property with breathtaking views over the River Avon, Bantham beach, Burgh Island & out to sea. Guest annexe, separate staff apartment, immaculate landscaped gardens with tennis court and heli-pad.
Yes you read that right, it’s got a heli pad! No swimming pool but there are some good locations within the ground for one.
It also has a guest annexe which has a kitchen, living room, and double bedroom with en suite bathroom, while the separate staff apartment, situated above the triple garage, has its own garden.his is a real lottery winner’s house! Perfect for anyone who has their own helicopter, or just has lots of friends with them!
House buyers wanted for ITV Show
ITV1 are looking for home hunters to take part in Drive to Buy, a unique and exciting new property programme.
• ARE YOU LOOKING TO BUY YOUR IDEAL HOME NOW?
• ARE YOU INTERESTED IN A ONCE IN A LIFETIME BUYING OPPORTUNITY?
• CAN YOU OUTWIT RIVAL BUYERS TO BAG YOUR DREAM PROPERTY?
Drive to Buy will give four pairs of home hunters the exclusive opportunity to view three properties on the market that fulfil their dream criteria. Travelling from property to property on the Drive to Buy bus, the home hunters are all looking for similar properties at similar prices. They can bid on as many properties as they like, but there’s a catch – offers can only be made immediately after viewing the property. Once the Drive to Buy bus drives away the property is ‘off the market’.
This is the first property programme of its kind that brings house hunters face-to-face with their home buying rivals in a nail biting game of property poker.
If you are a home hunter in a position to buy a property in August – October 2011 and are interested in taking part in this original programme then please contact Renegade Pictures for further information and an application form – drivetobuy@renegadepictures.co.uk / 020 7449 3298.
What do I think?
What a horrible idea for a TV show! Is it to build up the feeding frenzy again to get bidding wars? Is it someone trying to find a way to entice people to buy their house?
Bizarre!
