DIY disaster in your house?
I’ve had an email about a new home makeover show for Channel 5. Their property expert Sian Astley will rescue Britain’s worst DIYers who – either through lack of money, time, experience or just plain folly – are living in barely habitable and often downright dangerous houses. The problem is they are likely to have bitten off far more than they can chew and have no idea how to finish.
You might remember Sian from Property Ladder – and maybe if you’re in the Manchester area you’ll have seen her in the past on Channel M.

Crazy balcony design
Utterly barking mad balcony design – swimming pools. Or is it a really good idea?
Amazing stairs

An exceptionally rare, historic and ancient Grade I Listed former Chantry of considerable character in a quiet village location. Much period character including a Magnificent Hall with a cross beamed painted ceiling and preists room.
Railway carriage house
A fascinating freehold property being a Victorian railway carriage, suitable to live in but also used as a successful letting business. Living room/conservatory, kitchen area, 2 bedrooms, shower room. Secluded garden. Detached bedroom annexe. Parking.
Winbow Farm
Winbow Farm has origins thought to date back as far as the 12th century and the main structure believed to have been built around the 17th or 18th century, charming hints of the history are seen through exposed Plank & Muntin Screens found in the sitting room and dining room, and a brick built bread oven in the kitchen.
Picture Perfect countryside
Fab house with holiday cottages and approximately 32 Acres Including A Dartmoor Tor & Ancient Stone Row
To the rear of the garden is a caged vegetable and fruit garden with raised beds and a chicken/duck compound both of which have water.
Rules for viewing houses
Worth a read on the Find a property blog – The list was issued by the owners of a home that was recently sold by an unnamed Strutt & Parker branch in the South East of the country. The agents were told by the owners that their services would not be needed for viewings but to simply hand out the following list all prospective buyers
