You can look up the history of your house using maps.
The Charles Close Society has maps on their site. In the Maps section they have ‘Notable or Interesting Maps’
Their digital image section is interesting.
This page though is the most useful – put in your address and it’ll show a list of maps it features on! Some have links to them but others you might have to visit the British Library Maps room for.
This is discussed in the Restoration Home book that accompanies the BBC series. If you’re interested in researching the history of your own home it’ll be a useful reference and inspiration.
The Old Rectory is situated on the southern edge of Alburgh is a lovely gothic revival victorian building. It’s got wisteria growing on it too which adds to it’s loveliness.

He’s buying a house for a tad under £4M. His flat in Beetham Tower hasn’t sold yet.
Beetham Tower in in the middle of Manchester with the postcode m3 4lq. We assume that Phil’s flat is the one listed for £3.75M
Their new house has 6 bedrooms and a cinema, gym, sauna, steam room and large garage.
